Laura Hale was born and raised in Tisdale, Saskatchewan. She studied carpentry and visual art in Regina. She spent 5 years as Head of Props at Regina’s Globe Theatre before leaving to pursue her own artistic practice full time. Laura has done several artist residencies including the Jeux du Canada Games in Regina, Meewasin Valley in Saskatoon, the City of Lloydminster, Jumblies Theatre in Toronto, Wallace Stegner House in Eastend, the University of Regina and the Saskatchewan Legislative Building 100th anniversary residency. In 2013 she was invited to New Zealand to participate in an international artist collaboration and she will be participating in a similar international residency this summer in Northern Saskatchewan. She has just finished a two-week residency in Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park. Laura is represented by Mysteria Gallery in Regina, Saskatchewan.
