Swarm is a multidisciplinary artist and street artist from Ontario, currently based in Montreal. In 2011, she attended OCAD (Ontario College of Art and Design) and has since been using the streets and back alleys of Toronto and Montreal as her primary exhibition space. Although a newcomer to Montreal, Swarm’s wheatpastes saturate the streets and back alleys, ranging in size, but consistent in their seductive printed, painted or cut out circles with detailed, naturally occurring patterns of the universe. Her wheatpastes are like microscopic images that inspect nature not only to understand and celebrate it, but also to protect it. By encountering these cellular images on alternative surfaces in the city, it’s possible they may inspire awe and appreciation for one’s surroundings.
Swarm has participated in Art & Anarchy, a creative exhibition with the Montreal Anarchist Bookfair, and Decolonizing Street Art, a grassroots, Anti-colonial Street Art Convergence and has her illustrations and wheatpastes featured in various publications and festivals in Eastern Canada.
