Josh Jacobson is a Mural / Street Artist, with 10 years experience.
His passion for drawing and acrylic painting is combined with his desire to involve spontaneous opportunities for people to view his art. Inspired originally by the colourful and graphic work of local and international graffiti artists, he quickly identified with the cultural message that graffiti and street art represented. After backpacking through Europe, his direction soon moved towards Murals and Street Art. In learning a combination of styles and techniques used in completing murals, he has since had the opportunity to create street art and graffiti on a much larger scale.
Being self-taught, has assisted a great amount in experimenting with a variety of art mediums. Different inspirations stem from personal, intellectual, musical, imaginative, organic and scientific interests.
His current style encompasses the use of abstract art in a pattern of geometrical intersecting lines. The sharp and smooth aspects appear visually balanced. He attempts to create a three dimensional aspect through use of a large palette of solid contrasting colours. He also brings out certain features intended to become visible the longer one looks. Interacting with the community members influences his overall design. He finds community input intriguing. His goal is to create a message that needs very little additional explanation. In the future, he looks to pursue opportunities to collaborate abroad.
